Specifically this one:
They shake like a paint mixer, but they're really cool bikes. Stone simple, so whatever shakes itself into failure is easy to fix. I've always had a soft spot for them, and I'd really like to pick up a later XB9/12 while they're still cheap.
That is funny Alex, my Blast destroyed a 60$ pair of billet end mirror, litterally shook them to pieces. I've heard people will retrofit RPM gauges on the Blast and again the bike literally shakes them to death. A buell will make you appreciate lock-tite blue and red. My bike went through muffler mounting bolts until I went heavy duty 3/8 mounting bolt with a nyloc and lock tite red.
My Harley friend bought one for stupid cheap when they were NEW, compared to something with the overpriced baggage emblems saying Harley on them. One of the first things he did was swap the belt for a chain. No brainer there. Then as things fell off, safety-wired them back on with hand drilled bolts and nuts.
Just a thought. Aren't Buells from the nineties known for serious quality problems? Like cracked frames and such? You might want to look into that.
BTW, I'm not hating on Buell, I would love to own one at some point.
I test road an XB12s a couple years ago and loved the torque. But, I'll agree with the paint-shaker statement, The mirrors are useless below 10mph.
