I like wide sticky tire but I don't like the sound of gravel hitting the side of my Miata. I decided to try to make some DIY splash guards from a kit on EBAY for $22. I fastened them in a way that when I removed them there was no way to see the fasteners. Because they are the same color as the tires, they seem to blend in and not look too bad. They can be removed in a manner of minutes. I used plastic fasteners such as fender liner screws and plastic license plate screws to attach them.
Sharp looking ride.
Thanks. I should have mentioned that I had to buy 2 sets for a total of $44 since there are 6 flaps. The one in front of the rear tires is necessary because with sticky tires gravel tends to stay attached to the tire and get flung forward.
Care to give more details about how you decided placement and fasteners? Ive got a similar set for my lowrider to install
I tried to use existing fasteners whenever possible. I used all plastic fasteners. In most cases, I didn't have access to the back side so I used plastic panel fasteners used for attaching fender well plastic.

I think I' more impressed that you wide bodied the car and managed to keep the fender wells neatly sealed.
I added metal to the inside of the fender flares to attach the original fender liners. Its important to seal the insides of the fenders to to prevent rocks from hitting the insides of the fenders. Even with undercoating its possible to get paint damage from rocks hitting the inside of the fender. It takes a little extra time but it pays off in fewer repairs later. Also I feel like I can drive the car hard and not worry about gravel and rocks on the road.
