I recently bought an F150 whose chime was going off for airbag light not working. I replaced the airbag dash light which stopped the chime(thankfully) but flashed 27 and then stayed lit. code 27 means that the airbag off light it burned out. The trick is that it is soldered to a circuit board. Pretty simple to remove the yellow condom and warm up the solder enough to pull the light out. I used a number 37 sylvania brand replacement light from autozone. Just straighten the wires out poke them through the board and heat them up, melt the solder again(I needed a bit more of my own too) when you are done put the yellow condom back on. The reason I used 37 is its output is 1.1v versus 1.3 and 1.4 for other same sized bulbs like 73.

After additional time it seems the 37 bulb was not up to the task. I'm going with the 1.4v bulb next. Since I know so little about electrics it makes sense to me that upon startup in 11 degree weather this bulb didn't have enough overhead to deal with the voltage put through it upon startup.

Update: The second bulb is still operating fine.
