was watching some of this guy's videos and I think I've finally learned what the pro glass shops use! 
 

he says this is the stuff:

he also said there is a loctite product that works as well but takes 24 hours to cure vs 5 minutes in the sun.

Interesting product. I've had good luck with Permatex.

Same here. Clean it, do it in a temp controlled environment and let it cure for 2 days before hanging the mirror. NEver had one come back off

I've simply used JB Weld.  Never had one fall off.
