Just had a quick question that I'm betting will be better answered by a racing forum than by a general forum about the car. Myself and my students have just about the entire interior removed down to the metal inside. looking to paint the interior white, or a light gun metal gray. Had read an article a while ago about using the rustoleum epoxy appliance paint. I'm sure I could thin it a bit and spray it with a gun. Just wondering how you guys think this would work if I had the students put it on with a foam roller.
If anyone has any other suggestions of what would work I would love to hear them. Keep in mind this is being applied by a team of 8th graders. So ease of application definitely takes place over a perfect look.

The Rustoleum should cover fine.
Another thought, if you have a Tractor Supply local to you, they have a line of paints that work very well when applied with a foam roller. They may also be easier to deal with than a epoxy.
I used Rustoleum smoke grey in my race car interior. I used rattle cans and it has held up well except where I didn't do a good job cleaning the metal. Good, light color that goes with everything.
The Rustoleum epoxy is great. Whatever you do just make sure you prep it well. We didn't on our chump car and we are going to have to repaint the cage and floor board. We also didn't use the epoxy on the cage because we decided to go with an exotic color and it wasn't readily available.
I used Rustoleum Bare Metal Primer. It is flat white and strong as hell.
