The difference it not that great but my spring perch is not very ‘wide’ and it looks like only half of the spring actually sit on it. Is this safe? IF I can use these, would I need to use o-rings or ‘something’ to align them??

Those fit like my KW supplied springs and perches on the rear side of my Z. they have been handling track abuse just fine.
If 1.5mm is enough for you to worry about then have someone turn it down. Otherwise I wouldnt worry.
Wrap the strut with tape before mounting the spring to center the spring.
You are not going to break the perch. If you do, you have a very different problem (like very poorly constructed perches).
I'd run them.
