I am driving my wife's old Armada to Fallon Nevada to deliver it to my sister. She bought it to replace her GMC Acadia.
She moved out to Nevada eight years ago when her husband got a job instructing at the top gun school in Fallon Nevada. He ended up retiring there and works as a civilian contractor now.
I haven't been out there to see her yet so I figured this made a good excuse for a road trip.
I left yesterday from Jacksonville around 1:30 after working in the morning.

Driving down I10 for the first leg. The devastation from the hurricane last October is still prevalent on the side of the highway. I can only image what it looks like closer to the coast.
Made good time and crossed into Alabama around 5:00 central time.
Went through a cool tunnel in Mobile.
Made it to Hattiesburg Mississippi for dinner. Stopped at a local BBQ restaurant.

Be careful that you don't take a left turn when you get there

That's a pretty nice-looking truck. How is it to spend that much time in? What kind of mileage are you getting in the real world there? Is it 2-row or 3-row seating? What year is that one? I might have to put the Armada on my list of contenders...

Just rolled into Texas!
Wae,
We are averaging 15.9 this trip. It has 3 rows and is very comfortable. I liked it much better than the 2007 Denali that we replaced. It is a 2010 4x4. I liked it so much I bought my wife a 2018 Armada which is why we sold this one to my sister.

In reply to mr2s2000elise :
Yup, and me and my dad's airline tickets home. Should still be less than shipping it, would have cost.
So far I have spent $170 in gas. One way tickets home were only $90 each.

There are windmills everywhere in Texas. They are pretty neat to watch. A semi truck drove past with a blade on it, its crazy how big they are.
Sunset in New Mexico. We made it to Albuquerque to stop for the night.
Had breakfast in a local diner before hitting the road for the grand canyon.

We made it to the Hoover Dam just before it got dark.
Stopped for dinner at an In and Out burger. I honestly don't understand why people make a big deal about this place.

Spent the night on the Vegas Strip. I lost $20.00 gambling. It was worth it though for the people watching.
Needless to say it was totally out of my dad's wheel house.
It was my 4th time going to Vegas. I have gone to SEMA twice and I went once with my wife a few years back.

I was going to say it looks like your sister is going to put the Armadas big tow capacity to work, but people with real barns and such usually have big ol duallys for that type of thing.

They use a 2500 diesel Ram to pull their travel trailer. They plan to use the armada to pull an open trailer with their Polaris RZR.

I was going to say that guy looks way too young to be his dad.
I know it's an Armada... but it's not a canoe armada...
continue about your adventure
