I really want one, but Ohio is weird about titling them.  Seems like if one has already been snuck in with a full title, it's good, but they are trying to title new imports for limited road use.  I think, technically, I could get pulled over for driving one on the road my neighborhood connects to.

A few people do Montana LLCs to register them. VT used to be open to outside people registering vehicles but they closed that recently.

Some states are definitely weird about it. Texas recently overturned some of its blockage of registering them.

Rhode Island banned them, but from a friends Facebook post RI might have just allowed SXS to be registered for street use so how is that fair?

I'm planning on jazzing mine up for a local charity car show coming in May. Definitely going to have my Honda Grom in the bed.

But I've also been crushing hard on the newer 1999+ with fuel injection. Also really like the front wheels forward, seems much easier to lift and throw bigger wheels in with less clearance issues.

The dealer by me has gotten in another fire truck   I have no use for one and NY won't register them anymore but I still want one.

Wonder if that supercharged Sea-Doo's engine would fit under the bed of one of these...

The answer is always yes with enough death wheel and welder!

I too want a mini truck... there's a dude that I disc golf with that not only has a 4wd Acty, but also a RHD Pajero Junior, which I also lust over weekly.

I thought about selling the kei truck to get the wagon back but I don't think I can part with the truck yet.

I mean I've seen internet evidence of Polaris Ranger 6x6 swap, Turbo LS (well that replaced the bed), K series swaps, Hayabusa swaps.

Haha, sadly the wagon was sold a few weeks ago!

Glad it sold and hope you're enjoying the replacement.

I need a bigger driveway (and paycheck) because I'm still wanting another kei truck and another wagon.

Starting basic diagnostics. Finding number one: 0.5V on the battery, which has eensie teensie diameter terminals. Nipple-like.

There a common American replacement for these batteries?

I haven't personally swapped a battery but I've heard some of the larger lawn tractor batteries fit and even have the smaller post terminals.

"Nipple terminal to 'Murican terminal adapter"?

Yeah, I found that as an option from the Google machine, as well as a supposed direct fit using some flavor of Prius 12v batt. Haven't dug too deep. Have current battery on the fanciest charger I own, just in case it's got something left to give.

895cc between them all.

Got this homebuilt motorcycle carrier from the forum. Cut it down and re-welded the excess into a second carrier for the CRF110. Still more to do.

So in my daily dreaming of weird projects that I may never attempt, I came up with a new one. I keep thinking about powertrain swaps to make the kei truck faster but then I had a reverse thought. So if I did a swap to make the truck faster, other than sell original engine /transmisssion, what about making a small buggy out of it. it would shed some weight making it a little quicker, but being truly off-road only at that point it would matter much, but I'd still have the capability of the ultra low gears and locking diff. Could move seating back so the driving dynamic would be different. Make it with no body overhang the wheels so approach and departure would be pretty crazy...

Maybe I just think about stuff too much... Need to get going with some stuff.

Can you work on these and get parts for them?  Could be fun as a backyard wheelbarrow and mulch holder.

With the Honda and I'm guessing others there are a few parts that cross over to other period Hondas. Some bushings, people have found generic parts that fit. Then there are "dealerships" popped up for them that will stock and sell parts. eBay and other people as well.

So it's not exactly pop into any auto parts store and find everything, but you can get stuff fairly quickly.

1999 is when a lot of them switched from carbs to fuel injection making them even nicer. And they fall over 25 years now.

What are you guys with kei trucks doing for off road tires on the 12 inh rims?

Would a 22x7x12 work on the 4 inch rim?

I have some 13 inch rims but there are no off road tires that I can find.

Forceum MT come in 13" that's what on my truck in all my pictures.

There are DOT rated tires for the 12" rims too. There's these Yokohama ones plus two other brands in the same size.

Those are the best options for road driving as well. People have done golf cart tires, they don't handle road driving well at all. ATV tires are a mix but similar to golf cart tires for road driving. UTV tires might work better since the weight range of the machine is a better match but usually they're larger diameter tires so fitment is an issue.
