I'm thinking about getting a Kendon folding 2 bike trailer and hitching it to my daily fusion and/or my spec panther. 450# trailer with 2 600# bikes is still well under the 2000# capacity of my Fusion. I thought about renting a u haul bike trailer, but that's 800# empty and a bigger pain to load than a Kendon folder. I frequently want to haul bikes to ride at friends' places potentially a state away

I've never actually towed an unbraked trailer before, so that'll be new. Normally I tow a really heavy 28' enclosed car hauler with a built in generator and big tool boxes with my dually, so I'm no stranger to towing, but apart from an empty flatbed, I've never pulled anything under 2000# before, and certainly nothing with a single axle and no brakes. Is there anything I should know? Would I be killing the cars and it's not worth it for the stress on the transmissions?

I don't believe so. I have towed tens of thousands of miles behind a car for years and years. Got to brake a little earlier and be more watchful of big corners and hills.

Edit: I have never towed anything with a automatic car but genuinely wouldn't worry about it.
