Here's a shot from when we had our ZL1:
They work great if you have enough e-track to get the ratchet mechanism out from under the car. In the pic, the ratchet arc just cleared the splitter... It is really tight getting the straps on, though, especially with a large car. You have to be able to reach both sides of the wheel on the e-track to latch the straps in.
I wouldn't worry too much about suspension travel on a race car. The springs are going to be stiff enough that it's not moving a lot. Something softly sprung/ long travel (jeep/ SxS) I would be more concerned with. I strapped our Miata down with tow points for years before it had aero and had no issues.

Running 70mph on the interstate was yielding 10.3mpg vs the open trailer at 12mpg. Hitting the back road hwy and running at 60mph it came up to just under 11mpg. Obviously there's a lot more drag but there are some things I could do to help that.
Maybe one of these nose cone aero aids? https://www.nosecone.com/cargo-travel-trailer-models

It already has a generator cover that sticks out like those on the front. One of my plans is extended it more to close the gap to the truck. Maybe build more storage up there too.
Another I think would work is adding radius edges to the rear door the support air coming off the roof and sides at the back. Even a little should do something.
Mounted the generator up under the nose cone /cover. Nice to have it permanently on the trailer and not taking up floor space.
Can plug in and keep it closed. Need to extend the exhaust up and out and wire it for remote start though
Had a tire blow out last Friday. I'm surprised the dry rotted tires all made it this long. What did I find while changing it? The wiring fault my truck keeps complaining about...the brake wires were torn through in two places and crusty house wiring nuts holding everything together. Not to mention multiple sizes and types of wire....
Not time to rewire it all now. Fixed the worst of it and put the new set of wheels and tires on.
You're going from a hitch mount open to a goose neck? That's probably why it feels more stable. From what I understand the best towing hitch mount can't come close to the worst gooseneck.

Both trailers of mine are gooseneck. I pulled a friend's 10+ years ago and will never go back to bumper hitch.
Between my two trailers it's a 20ft deck open, dual axle vs this 36ft (total) enclosed, tri axle.
