After 50 years, Rick Kopec steps away from SAAC

Paris

In a recent announcement made by Shelby American Automobile Club, Rick Kopec, a founding father of SAAC, will step down effective immediately.

After 50 incredible years of unwavering dedication Rick served an integral role in defining the club,” shared SAAC Board Member David Maffucci. “Rick’s enthusiasm for Shelby American cars and our club helped bring together thousands of those who share the same passion.”

A founder who served SAAC as director emeritus since 2010 and editor of The Shelby American magazine, Kopec and his knowledge were the starting point for the SAAC Registries–the definitive history and authenticity surrounding the cars of Shelby American–since 1982.
