The remarkable 1927 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8AS Roadster from Audrain Collections won Best of Show at the Lugano Concorso d’Eleganza in Switzerland.
What made this car exceptionally special was its provenance. It was commissioned by silent film star Rudolph Valentino. Furthermore, it was first shown at the 1926 New York Auto Salon and has continued wowing automobile enthusiasts since then. The Isotta won Best of Show and Most Elegant at the inaugural Audrain Concours d’Elegance. It also earned two Best of Class awards at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The Audrain Automobile Museum displayed the Isotta in a 2020 exhibition, “From the Racetrack to the Opera: Marques That Did It All.” Audrain Collections acquired the car in 2020.
“We are very honored to be recognized among so many significant historic vehicles,” said Audrain CEO Donald Osborne in a press release. “This car has so many outstanding and striking features. While an American design, it feels like an Italian speedboat, fast, flowing, and elegant. It is truly a work of automotive art that reflects the personality of the man who commissioned it.”
