The history of Birkin starts in the early 1980s, when a man by the name of John Watson built his own version of the iconic Lotus Seven since Lotus had stopped making it. Known as the S3, this replica of the Seven was built in South Africa, though could be purchased through dealers in many parts of the world.
This 2015 Birkin S3 is a more recent example that is said to only have 1700 miles on the odometer.
This particular S3 is powered by a supercharged 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine backed by a five-speed manual transmission.
The car also features adjustable coil-over suspension and four-wheel-disc brakes with Wildwood four-piston calipers.
Find this 2015 Birkin S3 available for $29,900 over at Wire Wheel Classic Sports Cars.
