The BMW M535i, the step below the full-blown M5, was never officially imported into North America. Instead, BMW decided to tweak the North American-spec 535i and call it the 535is. Built from 1987-'88, the 535is was mechanically similar to the 535i, though featured an upgraded suspension and M5-inspired styling.
This 1987 BMW 535is is one of those cars, and is reported to have been restored “from a rust free original” that has received “lots of mechanical work.”
Noted as being a high-mileage example, the listing say that the BMW has “obviously been well cared for.”
As well, the seller explains that the air conditioning works well and “most everything” in the car works, except for the power headrests.
Find this 1987 BMW 535is for sale through Significant Cars for $17,500.
