Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival: Win some fun honors

“Best Car to Take Your Momma to Church?” “Car Most Inclined to Stop for Gas?” These aren’t the conventional concours classes, and that’s just how the Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival wants it.

“Our concours Judges came up with these awards to ensure entrants a carefree and enjoyable time rather than experience the staunch competition of our Concours d’Elegance in September,” Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival and St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on Chesapeake Bay Chairman Luke L. Phipps said.

The 2024 Car Most Inclined to Stop for Gas award winner.

Other awards last year included:

Car that is youth owned/restored
Oldest car on the field
Best unrestored car you can drive and park anywhere
Car with an interior you would like to make into a suit
Car your dog would most like to ride in
Car that should be entered in the next available Concours d’Lemons
Car you would most like to scare your mother-in-law in
Car you would most like to take on a racetrack
Car with the longest ownership
Car that would be a great ride for a crisp autumn drive/picnic

The best part? The best in show is the people’s choice award. Even better, that winner gets an invite to the concours held on the same grounds later in the year.

The Chesapeake Bay Motoring Festival takes place June 7-8 while the St. Michaels Concours d’Elegance on Chesapeake Bay runs September 26-28. Both are hosted by the Kent Island Yacht Club in Chester, Maryland.
