Classic Motorsports Car Catcher: Das Messerschmitt

What if you could tell all your friends that you own a Messerschmitt. The Volo Auto Museum can help. Messerschmitt is mostly known for their World War II fighter planes, but they also made some very popular microcars after the war. The Volo Museum is selling this 1956 Messerschmitt KR200 for $47,998.

I've owned a '56 KR-200 for 30 years. They are a blast to drive. Not quite a motorcycle, not quite a car. It's something uniquely in-between. Of all the microcars, the Messerschmitt was the most sporting. It encourages you to plan the best line through a turn, makes cool 2-stroke sounds, and has a slick shifter. They make an Isetta look like a porky pig (don't get me wrong, I love Isettas too). This is why 'Schmitts bring so much money today.
