I raced a Grantura Mk 3 (the first with the good chassis) with MG power, and the slightly later Ford 4 cylinder cars also made great little racers.
Love the slightly off-kilter designs of TVR cars? You might be able to call one your very own. This 1974 TVR 2500M for sale in Norfolk, Virginia, has an asking price of $13,500. According to Hagerty, that’s somewhere between #3 ($14,000) and #4 ($8,300) value. It’s a little hard to gauge this one’s overall condition from the Craigslist photos, but it looks like it could be a good deal.
