Coming This Weekend: the Driveway Edition of Jacksonville Cars & Coffee

Being stuck at home doesn’t mean a stop to interaction. Coming Saturday, April 11: Jacksonville Cars & Coffee Driveway Edition.

What’s that all about? Just post a photo of your car to the group’s Facebook page this Saturday morning.

But there is a catch: A prop to be included in that photo will be announced at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 10. The reason?  So we’re all posting fresh photos taken this weekend–like, to turn the event into an actual event, even if we can’t all get together.

The prop, we’re told, will be something that most people already have, so don’t worry about having to overnight in some plutonium or a copy of the Necronomicon. Find full event details here and, yes, there will be prizes.

Entrants are asked to make a donation to a recognized First Coast charity offering Covid-19 assistance–like, they note, the First Coast Relief Fund or the Jacksonville Humane Society. (Do it for the puppies and kitties.)

This event brought to you by Jacksonville Car Culture, Grassroots Motorsports, Hagerty, Cars & Coffee at the Concours and Deremer Studios.

We’ll vertually see you this Saturday.

I hope it's not a 10mm socket. I'll never be able to find it.

And I'm in for this, by the way. Be nice to get the car out of the garage for a few.

The prop for tomorrow's virtual Jacksonville Cars & Coffee.

Details:
Entrants must post photos of their vehicle(s) with a coffee cup/mug/thermos in clear view. Photos without the prop will not be judged or qualify to win. The reason we are doing it this is to try to keep folks from posting glamour shots of someone else's car that they found on Google. You may post more than one vehicle and in more than one category, but only ONE PHOTO PER VEHICLE PLEASE. Pick your favorite shot! If you do not have a driveway or do not want to include the background, close up shots are absolutely fine. An engine bay, a wheel or grille. No problem. Creativity is key, but entrants must own the car and take the photograph (a family member/friend may also take the photo but make sure you let us know who took the photo so we can give them credit if we share the image). No gathering please, just you and your car and a family member if need be.
