Fiat Club America hosted its annual Fiat FreakOut convention in Greenville, South Carolina. We were privileged to be a part of this incredible weekend and participate in the non-stop activities.
From drives on your own into the beautiful North Carolina mountains starting on Wednesday, to tours of the nearby BMW manufacturing plant, there seemed to be something to do almost every minute.
Thursday brought more drives and tours, as well as go-karting and a happy hour at a nearby brewery at BridgeWay Station, an interesting pavilion made to look like you were back in the 1800s.
The actual car show was held on Friday at the beautiful Furman University, where the cars were carefully staged around a stunning lake, which houses the university’s bell tower on a small island.
This club, while primarily made up of Fiat owners, welcomes Lancias and Alfa Romeos as well. Best of show honors were taken by Nick Cervera, who brought his incredible 1964 Lancia Flavia all the way up from south Florida to participate in the show.
Nick Cervera's 1964 Lancia Flavia–driven all the way from South Florida to Greenville, South Carolina–won Best of Show.
Saturday night’s award banquet was held at the host hotel, Greenville’s Embassy Suites. Classic Motorsports Publisher Emeritus Tim Suddard was the guest speaker.
While we have been to a lot of car club conventions, you could not find a friendlier group than Fiat Club America, and few places are better than Greenville to host an event like this. The hotel was nice. Furman University is a great place to host a show. And the endless mountain roads nearby made for some memorable drives.
