2024 Monterey Kickoff: The perfect place to show your German car.

A chance to show off your German classic during Monterey Car Week–plus the chance to win exclusive awards and prizes?

Whether it’s an icon from the likes of Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Volkswagen–or something a little more obscure from Glas, Bitter, NSU or Bogward–it’ll be right at home at our annual Classic Motorsports Monterey Kickoff Presented by Sunoco.

Celebrating the start of Monterey Car Week, our annual Monterey Kickoff brings stunning cars, like-minded enthusiasts, ideal weather and a kind of magic that can only be found at Monterey to downtown Pacific Grove, California, on August 13.

Want to show off your car–German or otherwise? Vehicle entry is $75, and all cars must preregister online here. Capacity is limited to 200 cars.

For those looking to spectate, simply walk right in. Entry is free for spectators and no registration is required.

So... what can somebody tell me about that 911? I can already see the gorgeous colour, and the tiny mirrors; I've seen the "upper" extra lights before, but the quartet of amber ones is new to me. Neat idea, if you don't have to mount a licence plate. And is that a custom valance?

It is a pretty color, isn’t? I believe the event registration says that it’s a 1983 911 SC, while the front valance looks like an IROC/RSR-style piece. I’m guessing someone made a mount for the quartet of lamps. 

GT Racing offers lots of options when it comes to Porsche fiberglass. Here’s their page on just front bumpers for that car.
