Jim Boffo will be the Honorary Starter for the 2024 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, and with good reason. PVGP says “he helped many locals get their start in vintage racing.” Who better to start an event that someone like that?
Boffo co-owns Boffo Motors, which started in 1960. Over the years it has been a franchise for MG, Austin-Healey, Jaguar and Fiat. It continues today by servicing British and Italian cars under the guidance of Boffo and his brother Gary.
Boffo is an accomplished racer, too. He qualified for the SCCA Runoffs from 1970 to 1975, finishing second twice. He’s best known for his bright yellow No. 1 1967 Mini Cooper S.
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix runs July 25-August 4. For more information, visit pvgp.org.
