Why did the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance choose someone who works for Pixar as its Grand Marshall for 2021? Simply put, Jay Ward, Pixar’s Creative Director for Franchise, is familiar with cars in more than one way.
A driving influence behind all three Cars films, Ward also inspired a classic car show on the Pixar campus, “Pixar Motorama,” as well as judging at concours events across the country.
In deciding on who to make Grand Marshal, Greenwich Concours d’Elegance Chairman and CEO of Hagerty McKeel Hagerty had this to say:
“When our team considered a long list of potential candidates for this year’s Grand Marshal, one name rose to the top, Jay Ward. Jay’s impact on pop culture, capturing the imagination of the next generation and awakening a life-long passion for cars and driving, is inspiring."
The 25th anniversary of the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance will take place in Greenwich, Connecticut, October 22-24. In addition to the Sunday concours, Saturday is set to feature cars from Radwood and the Concours d’Lemons, plus “A range of hands-on activities” for guests.
