The 2025 Road Racing Drivers Club Legends Dinner and Gala will celebrate 50 years of the grand prix in Long Beach on April 10. And they’ll be honoring three drivers with history at that event: Mario Andretti, Al Unser Jr. and Brian Redman. The trio will be interviewed “David Letterman-style” by Bobby Rahal.
The dinner and gala moves to a new location next year, The Westin Long Beach, taking place the day before the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach opens to the public.
The event benefits The Mark Donohue Foundation. It supports SAFE is Fast, which offers online race driving tutorials, and the Grand Prix Foundation of Long Beach, which benefits charities in the area. Proceeds from the gala go toward the Long Beach City College Automotive Technology program.
The Road Racing Drivers Club started in 1952 to “give champion drivers a say in their sport, particularly in areas of safety, and has evolved to serve the future of road racing by mentoring new drivers on both amateur and professional levels.” Membership is by invite only, and the group includes many leading industry professionals, race officials and motorsports journalists, in addition to prominent racing names.
