The new Shelby American Automobile Club Foundation Inc., a nonprofit organization, will “assure the continuation of the Shelby Registry into the future,” according to the SAAC.

The foundation is independent of the SAAC club and will be responsible for “preserving, protecting and publishing the history” of Shelby American vehicles.

In addition to a board of directors, the foundation will also have an advisory board. Shelby American designer and Classic Motorsports contributor Peter Brock will chair it along with Rick Kopec, co-founder of the SAAC.

Founded in 1975, SAAC has kept a registry of Shelby American vehicles, with detailed records, that has contributed to the rise in prominence of Shelbys among collectors.
