Sure, we will be ready for a major concours in sixth months. What could possibly go wrong?
As you will quickly see in our print publication, (Get a free sample issue at classicmotorsport.net/try.) we have an interesting plan for this project. From tearing up rallycross events in the dirt, to entering the car into a prestigious concours event, we want to show our readers several different events that can be done with their low-buck classic car. Track time and a long distance rally are also in the cards.
To that end, we have conned our way into the newly formed Pinehurst Concours, being held the first weekend in May in Pinehurst, North Carolina. We told them that the folks at Pebble Beach were begging us to bring this rare and exotic Mercedes, but we were willing to forgo Pebble if they would provide us with M&Ms (only blue ones, of course).
And when they asked to see pictures of the car, we told them that we couldn’t risk photos of a car this special being leaked to the public.
Pinehurst looks to be a really cool event. We are very excited, although a bit petrified, as we are a long way from having a trailer queen with our Mercedes project.
This should be a fun thrash and a fun event.
