What do we do with our Porsche? We drive it.
Where was our 1984 Carrera this weekend? Around. It’s a car. It should be driven.
First stop: St. Augustine for a photo walk through part of the city.
The reaction? A few people in the group–including a teen–started checking out the car. The appropriate reply? Here, get behind the wheel so you can savor some of the experience.
Second stop: A nearby old-school BMX event.
The reaction? Cool car and what year is it?
Third stop: A rest area on the way back from Ormond because it was necessary.
The point of this? Winter is gone, so time to hit the pavement.
Did we have fun this weekend? Yes.
Did the car come home dirty? Also yes–parking in and near gravel will do that.
So, what did you do with your classic this weekend?
Well, I'm getting ready to head home fromWinter in Florida, and ready to get the Z out of mothballs for the Summer, first item: check leak in power steering system, next item: drive the heck out of the car. Kind of wish I had the car down here, I'd come over and see you guys.
Should like a manageable to-do list, and hopefully you can make one of our events one day.
