1984 Porsche 911 Carrera

The latest addition to our fleet. It was previously owned by Andy, our auction editor, and was nicer than promised. The car hasn’t changed much since its delivery from Southern California’s Merlin Olsen Porsche-Audi: original paint, Fuchs and very few modifications. We’re going to assume that at some point some internal engine work was done, as the car didn’t use any oil during the 1500-mile drive home. Look for the car to make a few appearances in the magazine from time to time.

Thought about getting one many times but just like "bravenrace" the cost of parts scared me off. Also like him, I hope you chronicle your ownership experience so that the rest of us can be more informed about what is really entailed in maintaining an middle-aged 911. I would seriously consider looking for one if I thought I wouldn't have to break the bank in order to keep it in nice shape. -Doug
