I want a black Mk IV in the worst way. It was the first performance car I had ever driven at age 15, and it has really stuck with me. Nice ride.
1995 twin-turbo, 6 speed Getrag trans, targa top; now moded with a slightly larger single turbo, fuel system, coilovers, Racelogic traction control. I love driving this car, it’s powerful, it handles great, it stops great. Only “downside” is it needs high octane to run max boost; ~17psi on premium pump, but I run 112 octane or even VP C16 (117 oct) to boost up toward 30psi.

PS: wetpossum, since I had a '67 E-type, I now sometimes think of the MkIV as a modern Japanese version of the E-type; inline 6, DOHC, even the look to a limited extent, with covered headlights and fastback'ish coupe look. I miss my Jag.
Thanks, Dave. I recall a few weeks ago you shared some great stories about racing the MkIV back when it first came out. It was great to hear that from someone who was there. I posted your comments on Supraforums in the roadrace section and it was much appreciated.
Thanks Nick, I posted a few picks on that post a week or so back too if you haven't seen them.
I just found them today. Great pics! Thanks a bunch. I'm excited about them and have to share with other Supra wackos ...hope you don't mind.
Hi, Nick! I have some more photos of my car at my website (currently a stalled work in progress) http://wetpossum.com/cars/jaguar/jaguar.html and at xkedata: http://www.xkedata.com/cars/detail/?car=1E31943 I agree that the supra is the modern day interpretation of the "E" Type. A gorgeous looking straight-six supercar for sub-supercar price. I've already got a savings account going for my own black TT 6sp :)
wetp, Thanks, I checked out your links ...what can I say, I'm still madly in love the the E Type. OK, here's my idea: you have an E type, I have a black 6sp Supra. Why waste resources when we can just swap once in a while...sort of like sharing/swaping nice girlfriends but a little more complicated and emotionally involved since we love our cars so much. Oh how I wish the E type was more affordable since what I'd really like to do is build a racecar out of it...not hardcore racing I'm getting too old for that, but just a fun track day car. That amazing low weight blows my mind since as much as I love the Supra, it's a 3600 lb. oinker with me in it.
