I got to ride in one at Sebring last October for six laps. It was quite an experience. The level of grip and braking from a Z51 C8 is definitely extraordinary.
I'm not convinced Corvettes have really gotten faster since the C6 Z06. I think a lightly modified NA C6 Z06 with sticky tires would be faster around a circuit (and more durable) than either a C7 or a C8, H-pattern transmission and all.

Wait. Comparing a "lightly modified with sticky tired" marquee vette (z06) around a circuit against a stock base level c7 or c8 and using it as justification that corvettes havent gotten any faster?

I’d be willing to bet that a C8 w/Z51 package could get around most tracks quicker than a C6 Z06 with someone like Randy Pobst, Andy Pilgrim, or Johnny O’Connell driving both cars.

In fairness, in that chart there's a 4 second delta between a C6 Z06 and a C8 Z51. I'd guess two of those seconds are due to tires.
Yea but..... You are talking about the marquee model versus a base version. Do you think the C6ZO6 is going to be able to smell the tailpipes of a C8ZO6 even if you slap hoosiers on the c6? Corvettes, and cars in generally, have gotten absolutely SILLY lately in terms of speed. Anyone that thinks we have gone backwards hasn't been to many track events lately in my humble opinion.

I haven't tracked mine. Coming from an f80 M3 I'm very impressed with it.

How about that interior? Definitely not as dour and grayscale as most cars from the past 20 years.

A customer has one. I haven't gotten to drive it yet but it's supercar level performance for 1/4 the cost.

Sounds like a great future article to me as well!
