Ever see a car go so fast the camera operator struggles to keep up? That’s what it’s like to watch the McMurtry Speirling–a 1000-horsepower, all-electric fan car–set a record time of 00:39.08 in the Speed Timed Shootout during the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
For comparison, watch the other top nine fastest cars at Goodwood, the "slowest" of which was a Dodge Viper GTS-R.

So...by my count the top 10 fastest are half electric...color me impressed! The McMurtry is insane...I actually gasped out loud at how fast it is while watching the video.

A boxer engine Subaru was 4th. That is impossible if you read this forum!

You're right, I'd seen that. All of the downforce without the inherent drag of a winged car. It's surely got some sort of variability in the amount of downforce depending on requirements, too.
Not eligible for Pikes Peak.

The original fan / sucker car was built in TX a long time ago. It was declared illegal before it ever competed. Not all downforce is created equal.
