Honda may be known for its high-revving engines, but they’re not the only game in town: According to the video description, this VW Scirocco’s 1.6-liter, naturally aspirated engine produces 254 horsepower while featuring a redline of 10,400 rpm.
What's the highest-revving car you've driven?

My God! My wife thought I was watching F1. My 81 S never sounded like that. But I used a 2.0 stroker with an 84 GTI close ratio with a .75 overdrive 5th gear. 40 mpg at 80 mph and 15s in the quarter at 3500 ft elevation. Damn that yellow is perfect

Yeah that was awesome! Highest revving engine I've actually redlined was a small block Chevy built to rev to 7,500 RPM. I've driven a few Coyote equipped cars that can rev higher than that but not pushing it like my own car.

Hillclimb monsters is one of my favorite YouTube channels.

I hold that hillclimb guys are only a step less crazy than sprint car guys. That thing sound amazing and looks really planted around the corners.

I have datalogs showing 10,5 in the RX-7, and I'm pretty sure I've been over 11k at a fairly high speed event where I lost 3rd gear so I had to keep it in second on a long straight.
Not that event:

It was, indeed, an awesome truck. I mean, it did leak fuel, and smell kinda funny on the inside, and got only slightly better fuel economy than your average aircraft carrier, but it was pretty cool.

When you see some of the engine swaps on that channel, you'll realize that they're crazier.
