This past weekend marked our annual Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge at Virginia International Raceway, with Brian Faessler's turbocharged Ford Mustang GT350R taking the win as 2020's Ultimate Track Car.
Now you can be a fly on the wall—or in this case, in the cockpit—during the 1:47.507 lap around VIR that secured the victory.

Whew! Now that's fast, when you can hang with a prototype in the turns and then blast past him before the halfway point of the big straightaway. Well done!

He did it for all the mustangs. Proving once and for all, mustangs don't kill people, guns do.

Wow, when I saw it won, I was wondering when we were going to see this.
Even more impressive than the power, the car seems utterly composed EVERYWHERE. He's not fighting it being loose on the brakes or on/off/on the throttle trying to get the rear to hook up out of the corner..............it just does whatever he asks.
