We All Need A Good Automotive Lubricant

While there are lots of adequate lubricants out there, we might have found one that does everything really well and comes in a unique container designed to help get lubricant and penetrant into hinges, locks and other hard to reach places: MPT 12.

Formulated with ester, PAO synthetic base stocks, molybdenum, PTFE and special rust/corrosion inhibitors, MPT claims this product is the longest lasting lubricant available and offers outstanding protection. In testing, they claim the product will work in temperatures from -60° to 500° Fahrenheit and has evaporative loss of just 1.33% after 500 hours at 85° Celsius (185° Fahrenheit).

We tried it on a squeaky tailgate hinge that we weren’t able to get other products into. MPT 12 instantly wicked into the pesky hinge on our 60-year-old Edsel Village station wagon and made the hinge work like brand new again.

We love the three small containers the product is available in; a 4 fl.oz. pump, a ½ ounce oiler and the pen we used, as they are compact and will fit in the glove box or tool kit of any of our old cars. Check it out here.
