A Jaguar E-type once owned by a Bonneville speed record holder

What does someone who breaks a Bonneville speed record own? This 1965 Jaguar E-type, apparently.

That owner was motorcycle racer Bob Leppan, who rode the Gyronaut X-1–powered by two 650cc Triumph engines–to a Bonneville speed record of 245.667 mph in 1966.

The E-type is a matching-numbers example finished in its period-correct Metallic Golden Sand over Oxblood Red leather. It comes with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, jack, tool roll, and operating and maintenance books.

Find this 1965 Jaguar E-type Series 1 4.2 Coupe up for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated value of $120,000-$150,000.
