A Mustang Cobra Jet is rare as Ford only made 50. A Mustang Cobra Jet that’s also a Lightweight version? Only 20 were produced and this is one of them.
Ford manufactured the Cobra Jet for NHRA Stock classes. The Lightweight cars didn’t have any sound deadener or seam sealer to help shed additional pounds.
This restored example is listed in the 428 Cobra Jet Registry, was featured in Hemmings in 2018 and was a Hemmings Muscle Car of the Year finalist in 2013.
