Sure, the Civic wasn’t the first Honda to be sold stateside–that honor goes to the N600–but it was a key part in securing the Japanese car maker’s success in the United States, due largely in part to its low price and fuel efficiency during the worst of the 1973 oil crisis.
This 1978 model, the final year of the first generation, shows only 28,000 miles, which the previous owner said were “accurate and proper.”
According to the seller, the Civic is particularly rare in that it is equipped with both the two-speed automatic and dealer-installed air conditioning.
Find this 1978 Honda Civic available from GR Auto Gallery for $15,900.
