The estimate for Tom Petty’s 1964-1/2 Mustang convertible? How about just $25,000 to $35,000?

Hagerty lists a No. 3 value for the car at $35,600.

Bonhams will offer the Mustang–Rangoon red over a white and red interior–later this week during its Quail auction.

This Mustang, acquired by Petty in 2002, features the mid-level, D-code V8 backed with an automatic transmission.

Sold for $224,000. Apparently that estimate was quite low.
