The next best thing to owning a screen-used James Bond DB5? How about one built specifically to promote the famed franchise–and built by famed movie car builder George Barris?
Per the seller, the DB5 is believed to have been sourced directly from Aston Martin, which used the car as a works racer and fitted it with the engine from a DB6.
When Barris converted the car to resemble the DB5 used in Goldfinger, he is noted to have made use of the same sketches used to build the film’s hero car.
The frame, rear end and floor are billed as being original to the car, as is “most of the body and suspension.”
Currently, the DB5 is not equipped with an engine, though the aforementioned DB6 engine is included in the sale.
