Excellence attracts excellence. This Mercedes-Benz 540K is no exception. It was once owned by Peter Ustinov, an actor, director and writer who earned two Oscars, three Emmys and a Tony.
Ustinov owned the Mercedes-Benz for a relatively short time, acquiring it in 1951 and then selling it in 1953. In fact, an ad for it appears in Motor Sport magazine around that time through dealer Simmons of Mayfair.
Peter Ustinov wasn’t the only notable person to own this example. John R. Bond, publisher of Road & Track, once had it in his collection, too.
