Of the 27 examples of the AC Cobra 289 Sports, only eight were built as left-hand-drive models. This is one of them.
This is an export example, being sold new in Belgium in 1967. Its first owner was Claude Dubois, a racer with experience at Le Mans and class wins at the Nürburgring.
After a collision during the 1990s, the Cobra went back to the factory in England for repairs and a replacement of the original 289-cubic-inch engine with a 427-cubic-inch one. Other modifications include a Toploader gearbox and Ford GT40-type ventilated front disc brakes and solid rear discs. Its exhaust also exits from the rear rather than the side.
Find this 1967 AC Cobra 289 Sports for auction at Artcurial, with an estimated value of €600,000 - €800,000 (approximately $630,000-$840,000 USD).
