I would feel naked driving this without any rollover protection.

The one true king to rule over all the Shelby Cobras? You’ll want the (aptly named) King Cobra.
The trouble is, only six are known to have been constructed, and even fewer than that are believed to have survived.
Lucky for you, however, this one is for sale.
Recognized by the Shelby World Registry as one of the six King Cobras built by Shelby American, this example–CM/5/64–competed in the 1964 Los Angeles Times Grand Prix and 1964 Monterey Grand Prix with Bob Bondurant behind the wheel. Later, Roy Salvadori piloted the car at Silverstone and Goodwood in 1965.
After its tenure at Shelby, CM/5/64 competed in various SCCA regional and national events, racking up several first-place finishes.
More recently, the King Cobra underwent a five-year restoration at Sasco Sports at a cost of over $300,000. According to the seller, Peter Brock and SAAC Registry historian Chuck Brandt oversaw the work.
An extensive history file and a well-documented ownership history also accompany the car.
