One of the few Porsche 356C Cabriolets with a Carrera 2 engine

Sure, Porsche made 76,000 examples of the 356. However, only 3265 of them were 356C Cabriolets. And, of those, only 30 came with the Carrera 2 engine–the most expensive and most powerful engine available at the time. This is one of them.

This car has had several notable caretakers. Bob Estes, a prominent SoCal car dealer, racer, Indy 500 team owner (among fielding entries for other famous races) and car collector bought the 356C new. It then came into the ownership of Warren Eads, another well-known collector of Porsches.

Under Eads’ care, the 356C went through a thorough restoration. Ex-Brumos mechanic and four-cam specialist Paul Willison, of Willison Werkstatt, rebuilt the 2000cc four-cam engine with original components supplied by Eads.

Find this 1964 Porsche 356 C Carrera 2 Cabriolet up for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated value of $750,000-$900,000.
