While Enzo Ferrari focused on Formula 1, a few privateers consulted with the Italian automaker to create entries for Group 4 rally (eventually Group B). This is one of those 11 examples created by Michelotto for Group 4.

Michelotto’s primary change from the stock 308 was to create an enlarged body made of fiberglass and Kevlar. After the 1984 season, Michelotto sent this particular car to Lino Cazzola to make modifications that Michelotto had done to four other Group 4 Ferrari 308s. That included changing to a body with narrower fenders and replacing the Kuglefischer mechanical injection system with a Bosch K-Jetronic electronic injection system. Plus, they installed a lighter polyester and carbon Kevlar body and made other chassis changes to help with performance.

This particular 308 has competition history during the mid-1980s. Its one highlight? Podiuming at the 1984 Rally Tre Laghi with a third-place finish.

Find this Ferrari 308 Gr.B for auction at Aguttes, with an estimated value of €700,000-€1,100,000 ($770,000-$1,200,000 USD).
