Although the original run of DB4 GT Zagatos rolled off the assembly line in the early 1960s, this unique example wasn’t finished until the new millennium.
The short version of the story is that after some 19 examples were produced, there were unused bodies left over. Four were built in the late ‘80s (known as “Sanction II” models), with two–this example for sale included–built between 1999 and 2000 (“Sanction III” models).
Included in the Zagato Register, this Aston Martin is one of “the most powerful DB4 GT Zagatos ever produced,” fitted with a 4.7-liter engine rated at 359 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm.
Find this 1961 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato "Sanction III" for sale from Hexagon Classics, price available upon application. As a point of reference, Hagerty currently values a ‘61 DB4 GT Zagato in No. 1 condition at $10,550,000.
