Calling the Brooke Double R a “mid-engine Caterham” might be an oversimplification, but it’s one of the best starting points for explaining just how unique this particular car is.
While the mid-engined Double R is already a rarity, this example is the only Double R 400 ever made.
That “400” correlates directly with the car's engine output: The supercharged, 2.3-liter Cosworth/Duratec inline-four is rated at 400 brake horsepower.
Couple that with a car that weighs only about 1100 pounds, and you have a machine capable of reaching 60 mph from a standstill in “less than three seconds,” according to the seller.
And, although the Double R has had multiple owners since new, it currently shows just 1795 miles.
