It’s easy to understand why the first owner of this 1961 Jaguar E-type had it for nearly six decades. He had bought it for just $6609 in 1962. (About $67,331 in today’s money.)
This is an early-production E-type, with two highly desirable features: welded bonnet louvers and flat floors.
Despite the long-term ownership, it carries roughly 39,500 miles. It also has its matching-numbers engine and comes with extensive documentation.
Find this 1961 Jaguar E-Type 3.8-Litre Fixed Head Coupe up for auction at Gooding & Company, with an estimated value of $125,000-$175,000.
