Don’t have the million-plus dollars needed to secure a Singer 911? More affordable alternatives exist–like this 911 from Rindt Vehicle Design (named after Austrain racer Jochen Rindt).
Starting with a 1974 G-Series model–the same year the original customer was born–the body of this Rindt 911 was modified to resemble the famed 2.7 RS 911 and then finished in the iconic blue and orange Gulf livery.
Power comes from a 3.2-liter engine, equipped with Jenvey Dynamics fuel injection kit and programmable ECU, that’s backed by Porsche’s Sportomatic gearbox–a choice made to meet the customer’s desires for a 911 better suited for touring.
Inside, the 911 was fitted with several modern amenities including electric seats from a later 964 Porsche, Classic Retrofit air conditioning and a Kenwood touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation.
Since the project was completed, the Rindt 911 has attended the 2024 Salon Privé concours, among numerous other events, and has been featured in Classic Porsche magazine.

The Sportomatic is an interesting choice, but I think I'd be cool with that–if nothing else than for the novelty.
I don't see very many Sportomatic-equipped cars out and about, and it's cool that Rindt with it and not a more traditional automatic (though a DCT would be interesting.)
