The unrestored Ford raced to a win by NASCAR great Curtis Turner

NASCAR stock cars rarely survive the ages, but this is one of them. It remains highly original, and carries with it a history of some of NASCAR’s best behind its wheel.

The hard-partying Curtis Turner drove this car to victory at Daytona, in the 1966 sportsman/modified 300-mile support event to the 500. Later on, another NASCAR Hall of Famer, Bobby Allison, and then Allison’s brother, Donnie, would race the car, too, in the 300 at Daytona. In total, the Ford raced only four times.

After the 1969 Daytona sportsman event, it was parked. Because of that, the car has remained highly original. How original? According to the seller, “It is not only in its original paint but still has its original interior, down to the racing seat, Stewart-Warner gauges, seatbelts, asbestos flooring, and the tape on the steering wheel.”
