If there’s one thing this Ford Mustang Boss 302 knows how to do, it’s win. This car’s credited with earning the first win for a Bud Moore Mustang (and a Boss 302) in 1969. It also won its class at The Amelia in 2021.
The two-time NASCAR champion Bud Moore Engineering built this car. On April 26, 1969, Mexican driver Moisés Solana scored that first victory with the car in Puebla, Mexico. Tragically, Solana lost his life later three months later in a hillclimb. The first chicane at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, where F1 races, is named Ese Moisés Solana in his honor.
The Mustang features a period-correct V8, and many original parts. For example, while the car still retains its original wiring harness (although now disconnected), it still displays the misspelled “OOF” for off … twice. Details like that and its history certainly helped it win its class at The Amelia in 2021.

I sometimes I had an oof button on my computer. I'd use it frequently.
It's nice to see a "customer car" get some respect. We brought this car up from Mexico. I always like to see the IUSA sponsorship. They did a lot with the Solana family. El Viejo Solana (father of Moises and Hernan) was quite a character. Too bad the 427 Cobra is not in IUSA colors now.
