This may be the fifth Batmobile of its kind created, but it’s one of just two actually driven by Adam West, per the seller. However, it was completed long after the 1966-1968 TV series ended, built by George Barris and Andy Perillo in 1996.
Barris built the original Batmobile and took part in this one, too. He made other wild automotive creations, too, such as the Munster Koach, DRAG-U-LA, and this Overland BS Scraper.
While remaining quite true to the first Batmobile, it does have some distinct differences. A few examples include the bats, which do not appear on any other Warner Brothers vehicles. Also, this version has a hidden compartment above the driver’s head, which incorporate a fuse box and switches.
Find this 1966 Ford Futura Convertible up for auction at Hemmings, with an asking price of $1,500,000.
